Ayebami Imani is a trauma-informed somatic educator, author, award winning filmmaker, and founder of Water2Spirit, a wellness practice dedicated to emotional awareness, nervous system education, and embodied healing.
A first-generation college graduate from Omaha, Nebraska, Ayebami holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Nebraska–Omaha, with concentrations in Sociology, Spanish, and Minority Studies.
She is an award-winning documentary creator and a published children’s book author whose work centers the voices of survivors, challenges stigma, and creates accessible, culturally responsive spaces for education, reflection, and healing.
Ayebami is trained in nervous system regulation and conscious breathwork through Healus Physical Therapy. She integrates body-based practices into trauma-informed learning environments that support emotional awareness, self-regulation, and personal growth.
Rooted in both lived experience and interdisciplinary study, her work bridges education, storytelling, and somatic practice to support individuals and communities navigating stress, trauma, identity shifts, and life transitions.
